We've spent years in the motor trade, mostly under German vans with spanners in hand - the kind of work where cutting corners just means you'll be fixing it twice!
After years of working for other people and feeling like there was something missing with other garages, we decided to open ALTVAN in our home town, Bexhill on Sea.
Specialising in VW Transporters, Crafters and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Vito. We offer Expert Servicing, Repairs and Diagnostics to Tradies, Campervan Owners and those who just love their German Vans.
ALTVAN doesn't just keep vans running, we also make them stand out with styling upgrades, retrofits and accessories. And if that wasn't enough, we can transform your van in to the ultimate campervan ready for any adventure with bespoke furniture, heating solutions, cooking facilities and much more.
Meet The Team
Sam
Director & Founder
Sam's had a long career as a commercial vehicle technician before he started building leisure vehicles. Fresh out of college he jumped into an advanced apprenticeship with Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles working on everything from Unimogs to Arocs and of-course a whole lot of Sprinters.
He ended his career at MB a decade later on a high as a qualified Master Tech before building campers for a number of years. Fed up of taking instruction from people with less ability and experience than himself he decided to start ALTVAN.
Vanya
Operations Manager
After gaining her Level-3 Vehicle Technician qualification, Vanya started out in the motor industry as a technician for BMW, she later moved into the parts department working with brands such as Ford & Mercedes-Benz Commercials. Being our front of house Queen, she's the warm welcome, the easy talker and she knows her stuff too if you have a question.
Steve
Director & Accounts
Steve's the guy that makes sure ALTVAN doesn't descend into chaos. With decades of experience running a thriving home improvements business, he knows how to keep things moving. When he's not runnig the show here, he's spreading Christmas cheer as a professional Santa Claus (yes, beard and all)

As Steve would put it, Dizi is a good girl lovely girl. She looks scary as heck but she has the temperament of a golden-retriever. Unfortunately she still has the energy of a Malionois but we've got that under control….
